NUS Applied Economics eXplorations (APEX)

NUS APEX (previously known as the Applied Economics Student Workshop) provides a platform for PhD students and junior scholars to present and discuss work at all stages, while building networks within and beyond the NUS Department of Economics. Since its launch in 2022, NUS APEX has hosted more than 60 seminar sessions, featuring external speakers from universities across North America, Europe, and Asia. Visit APEX

Job Market Sharing Workshop

The Job Market Sharing Workshop brings together NUS Economics alumni and friends from outside the department to share insights into the economics job market and careers in academic and non-academic settings. In 2025 and 2026, speakers have come from, for example, universities in mainland China—such as Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Zhejiang University—as well as The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Princeton University’s DeCenter, and New York University Abu Dhabi; institutions including the Asian Development Bank and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority; and private-sector firms such as American Express and Amazon.
